My sister recently gave her two year old little guy ice cream for the first time. I'm pretty sure our people have a good relationship with dairy that goes WAY back, so I think little J and ice cream are going to be good pals this summer.
And over here, I've finally caved in to Oliver's wanting a watercolour set of his own. With a generous giftcard from Oma and Nonno, I finally got O the set he'd been wanting (and some other fun things) at an uber-cute kids store in Vancouver.
So Oliver has been busy practicing with his new-found medium. And I have been attempting patient responses to "oops mom, I spilled" and "mom! I turned the blue one purple and I don't like it!".

Fairy tale images make lovely practice sheets. (O's sheets can be found here and here.) |
Thanks Oma + Nonno!
Hi there!
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely watercolors!
How is spring coming over there? The lilacs are almost in here, a few days of sun and they are blooming.
I wanted to thank you for your tip about apple juice in the chicken fricassee a while back. (I have been meaning to get in though, but its been crazy hectic over here) You are right It really makes a difference! I used it in a veg stew last week and credited you with the idea in my latest post. http://recyclingmama.squarespace.com/home/2012/4/30/meat-free-monday.html
Have a great week.

I love to play with colours, too. so I can understand Oliver in wanting his own colours. And yes, sometimes still a colour does look different from what I want it to look!
ReplyDeleteFun to see the Bremer Stadtmusikanten in your pic! I will soon move near Bremen.
So fun! Messy fun! I used to let my kids fingerpaint, too, which was a huge mess, but they loved it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great gift! The kids store in Vancouver must be beautiful... Their blog looks really nice!
