Flavour Party

Today is the first day of summer.  Finally!

And to mark the occassion, I've decided on the "Summer 2011 dinner" chez nous.

Pasta with Charred Tomatoes and Hummus

I first read about it here ; it was the olive, hummus, cilantro, paprika AND garlic in the ingredient list that had me in the grocery store that afternoon and the dish itself on our table that night!  Fantastic.  Nothing boring about this vegetarian main! 

Our red of choice this summer (and a lovely pairing with the summer 2011 pasta) has been McGuigan Black Label Shiraz.
