Delightful Doing

“All in all, it was a never-to-be-forgotten summer — one of those summers which come seldom into any life, but leave a rich heritage of beautiful memories in their going — one of those summers which, in a fortunate combination of delightful weather, delightful friends and delightful doing, come as near to perfection as anything can come in this world.”

    1. Oh dear! A soggy summer in Germany this year? That always feels a bit like you've been cheated. Hope you are enjoying your almost-Fall, Duni!

  2. I love all the green in the second photo. Fall has kicked in here early this year, so leaves started to change colour, lots of acorns, and I've already spotted some funghi. I would have loved it if summer lasted a bit longer.

    1. Ya the spot where the cider farm was located sure was pretty. The cider was great too...we're looking forward to sharing some of our finds with friends soon! We don't have any mushrooms at the farmers markets here yet...am looking forward to them though!

    2. The 'shrooms are available at markets all year round, I was talking about the 'wild' ones!

    3. Mmmmm...I love mushrooms! I just made a really nice wild mushroom, sausage, red pepper lasagne on the weekend! Ya I knew you meant wild ones...they are presumably growing in our BC forests right now too, I just haven't been lucky enough to see any of them like you! We get regular white and cremini mushrooms (other cultivated varieties such as shitake, oyster, and portabello too) in our grocery stores year 'round too. Our farmers markets here offer only in-season and local produce. Haven't seen any chanterelles (my favorite!) at the markets yet though :(

      Mushroom lovers: unite!

  3. Beautiful pictures! The bottom is my favorite. Love beach scenes and kids always bring them to life even more.

    1. Thanks Sheryl! Yes, Oliver was pretending that he was protecting the beach when we were at Steveston. He found himself the perfect lookout perch there.
